Uniforms & Equipment

The Norwalk Soccer Club Board has an agreement with The Norwalk Shop as our official supplier of uniforms. The white uniform will not change. The purple uniform will now be the same A4 brand shirt with a white logo. During the transition to a new uniform, existing players can continue to wear the previous High Five Purple/Black jersey. Online ordering will be available. You can also stop into The Norwalk Shop to try on the uniform before purchasing. Visit the NSC Store and scroll down to Youth Uniforms to place your uniform order.

Duplicate Numbers: For 11U and older players, duplicate numbers are discouraged. Tape can by used over/in addition to the numbers in lieu of new uniforms. Team Coach has the discretion of requiring a new uniform. Please note having a duplicate number in a game could result in the referee refusing to allow a player to participate. Also, duplicate numbers can cause issues when referees record yellow or red cards during a match.

Shinguards are mandatory for practices and games.

Cleats are not required but encouraged.

Balls: We ask that your player bring a pumped up ball to every practice. Soccer balls can be purchased at Soccer Master or most sporting goods stores.
Proper ball size:
8U: Size 3
9U - 12U: Size 4
13U and up: Size 5

Fundraising

NSC generally sells  Butter Braids each fall and holds a Can Drive during the spring season.  Thanks to all that contributed in the past. The money raised helps pay for goals, balls, field paint and other equipment.

Referees: The shortage and the system.

Please read this article that helps explain why your team may not have had a referee for a game last season.

We need more referees! NSC Board agreed to some increases in the pay scale. This is a great, fun way for teenagers and adults to make some extra money.  There are several referee clinics scheduled in August in the Des Moines Metro area. Go to www.iowareferees.org
